 LEGAL NOTICE OF HEARING AS TO ZONING REQUEST

TO AUTHORIZE A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW AN AGRI-ENTERTAINMENT EVENT STRUCTURE

        CONCERNING PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS

 OF CLERMONT, GEORGIA

Notice is given that the Mayor and Council of Clermont, Georgia, shall conduct a public hearing as to the zoning application of Margaret Sue Merritt Rogers to amend the zoning map of the Town of Clermont, Georgia in order to have a zoning special use permit under the Clermont Zoning Ordinance Section 7-2.B.d. imposed as to one tract of land owned by Margaret Sue Merritt Rogers which is within the corporate limits of the Town of Clermont, Georgia, and to have a special use permit to allow an agri-entertainment event structure and currently having the zoning classification of Agricultural Residential III (AR-III).  The public meeting will be held at the Clermont Town Hall, 649 Main Street, Clermont, Georgia at 7:00 p.m. on July 22, 2025 before the Planning Commission and public hearing at Town Hall at 7:00 p.m. on August 5, 2025 before the Town Council, and is concerning the following tracts or parcels of land:

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF THE TOWN OF CLERMONT, GEORGIA, BY GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW FOR AN AGRI-ENTERTAINMENT EVENT BARN OR EVENT STRUCTURE PURSUANT TO CLERMONT ZONING ORDINANCE SECTION 7-2.B.d., ON THAT TRACT(S) OR PARCEL(S) OF LAND OWNED BY MARGARET SUE MERRITT ROGERS, AND BEING APPROXIMATELY 47.16 ACRES MORE OR LESS, AND LYING AND BEING IN LAND LOT 62 OF THE 12TH LAND DISTRICT OF HALL COUNTY, GEORGIA, BEING TAX MAP PARCELS 12 062 008, 12 062A 001, AND 12 062 010 AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED ON THE PLAT REFERENCED HEREIN, AND WHICH IS INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE INTO THIS ORDINANCE, AND BEING AGRICULTURAL RESIDENTIAL III (AR-III) DISTRICT, WITH CONDITIONS; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; TO PROVIDE FOR SEVERABILITY; TO PROVIDE FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

A copy of the zoning request, the plat for the property, and the Clermont Zoning Ordinance are available for inspection at the Town Hall at Clermont, Georgia.  You are invited to attend the public meeting of the Planning Commission and of the Town Council and give comments as to the proposed amendment to the zoning map.  The Town Council shall take action on the zoning application at the public meeting of the Town Council to be held at the Clermont Town Hall, 649 Main Street, Clermont, Georgia at 7:00 p.m. on August 5, 2025.

Notice of Call of 2025 General Election and

Notice of Qualifying Period for 2025 General Election

by the Town of Clermont, Georgia

 

The Town of Clermont, Georgia, will conduct a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., for the purpose of electing the following:

 

(A)  The office of Town Mayor of the Town of Clermont, Georgia, which will be elected at large for a term of four (4) years beginning on or about January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2029, and with the incumbent being James Nix.

 

(B)       The office of Town Councilmember of the Town of Clermont, Georgia, being Ward 3, which will be elected at large for a term of four (4) years beginning on or about January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2029, with the incumbent being Marcia Kesler.

 

(C)       The office of Town Councilmember of the Town of Clermont, Georgia, being Ward 4, which will be elected at large for a term of four (4) years beginning on or about January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2029, with the incumbent being James Castleberry.

 

The qualifying period, to qualify for the above offices, shall open on Monday, August 18, 2025 and will continue from day to day through Wednesday, August 20, 2025.  The hours of qualifying each day shall be from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (except for a one hour lunch break from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day). 

 

The qualifying fee for the seat of Mayor is $54.00 and for each Council seat shall be $43.20.  Prospective candidates may qualify at the Town Hall, 649 Main Street, Clermont, Georgia, by meeting with the Assistant Registrar and/or Town Clerk. Prospective candidates must reside within the Ward up for election to qualify.  All qualified candidates are encouraged to run.

NOTICE OF LOCATION CHANGE TO CLERMONT TOWN COUNCIL MEETINGS

Notice is hereby given that the location of Council Meetings of the Clermont Town Council has been changed from the Clermont Chattahoochee Center, 639 Main Street, Clermont, GA 30527, to the New Clermont Town Hall, 649 Main Street, Clermont, GA 30527. Town Council Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. 

Notice of any special meetings or any deviations to the schedule shall be posted by public notice on the information board located outside the Clermont Town Hall and on the Town of Clermont website www.clermontga.com
